Over the past years, Malta successfully established itself as a leading, well-regulated European online gaming jurisdiction with industry stakeholders considering Malta as one of the foremost tried and tested jurisdictions in the world.

In 2017, the Malta Gaming Authority finalised the new Gaming Act which was tabled in Parliament in 2018.

According to the Authority’s latest annual report, the direct contribution of the gaming industry to the Maltese economy was valued at €1.1 billion in 2017, with approximately 9,800 full time jobs created within operators directly in the sector and other associated businesses.
